The Shelton Youth Services Bureau sponsors youth life skills classes. These classes provide substance abuse prevention education upon request for students in grades four to 12 in Shelton schools. Each class is 40 minutes long and taught during the school day. Topics include respect, manners, stress and anger management, responsible behavior and consequences and getting along with others, as well as decision-making and alcohol and other drugs.

They also help organize an annual Prom Safety Awareness Night.
