Established in 1988, the Shelton Youth Service Bureau coordinates, plans and develops services for the youth of the city of Shelton and their families. The Bureau, which is located at Shelton High School, works with school personnel, police, community resources, youth and parents to provide educational programs and recreational activities that promote positive youth development and strengthen family ties. The Shelton Youth Services Bureau is an independent agency, but it receives assistance from the state Board of Education, city of Shelton and the Valley United Way.
