Equitable distribution of precipitation in all four seasons; large ranges of temperatures daily and annually; considerable diversity of weather during relatively short periods of time are possible; measurable precipitation on about 120 days of the year. During the recent past Shelton has experienced destructive hurricanes, thunderstorms with cloud to ground lightning, hail, ice storms, nor’easters, blizzards, frequent snowstorms, extended periods of rain, lengthy cold snaps and heat waves, but also many days of very pleasant weather.
